Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What colors do you breed?

A: We currently specialize in cream, red, and red tuxedo. We are hoping to add a few black/black parti dogs to our program. We are working to be one of the few breeders in the west who specializes in red, red tuxedo/parti, black, and black tuxedo/parti Goldendoodles. Below are a few examples of our colors.

Q. How big do your dogs get?

A. We breed standard and medium sized Goldendoodles, our dogs have been from around 45 pounds to 70 pounds, we cannot guarantee the adult size of any puppy we sell. Usually they are around 50 to 60 pounds. We will give you an estimate based on the parents weight.

Q. What are Generations?

A. The generations of Goldendoodles tell you how close or far away from the poodle and retriever the dog is.

The first generation is an F1, an F1 is a cross between a purebred poodle and a purebred golden retriever.

The coat will be wavy and soft, it may also be fluffy and curly.

An F1b is an F1 crossed back to poodle. The coat will be curly and fluffy, the dog is more likely to be hypoallergenic. The 'b' stands for backcross, so an F1b could also be crossed back to a Golden Retriever.

An F2 is a F1 x F1. The coat will be close to an F1, wavy and soft or fluffy and curly.

An F2b is a F1 x F1b or an F1b x F1b, the coat will depend on the mix, but it will be curly and fluffy.

A multi-gen is anything after an F2 or F2b. They are F3 or F4, but it gets confusing, so multi-gen is the name they have been given.

It is a good idea to note that generations do not always determine a dogs coat, but they generally are a good indicator. We generally breed Multi-gen Goldendoodles.

One of the myths about doodles is that the generation, and how curly the dog is, is an indicator of how hypoallergenic the dog will be. This is actually not true, the way to tell how hypoallergenic a doodle will be is through furnishings. Furnishings is a genetic trait, a dog with furnishings will have a beard, mustache and eyebrows, which is basically the "doodle look" that everyone loves. Poodles are fully furnished, and Golden Retrievers are not, this means an f1 Goldendoodle has a chance to have no furnishings ( II ) partly furnished (FI) or fully furnished (FF)

The only way to tell exactly what furnishings the dog has is through genetic testing.

Q. How will I know when my puppy is born? When I can pick him/her up?

A. Once you are on the deposit list, we will keep you updated on how mom is doing. When the puppies are born we will let you know and send you pictures of the litter. In a couple days we will send you single pictures of each puppy of the gender and color you are interested in.

We will send you single pictures each week. If you follow us on Facebook and Instagram, we have lots of pictures and videos and its a great way to stay updated.

When the puppies are six weeks old you will have an hour to pick out your puppy. The puppy will stay with us for the next two weeks. When the puppy is eight weeks old, comes the long awaited day, the puppy will get to go to his new home with you!

Q. Do you offer breeding rights?
